PNCB’s initiative on continuing competence will be revealed, as well as the behind-the-scenes work of the Institute of Pediatric Nursing on alternative pediatric clinical sites, diversity in the workforce and mental health resources.

Session Description: This session will unveil current initiatives and ongoing research on topics with relevance for pediatric nurses. PNCB’s initiative on continuing competence will be revealed, as well as the behind-the-scenes work of the Institute of Pediatric Nursing on alternative pediatric clinical sites, diversity in the workforce and mental health resources.
Primary Presenter Bio: Peg Harrison has served as the Chief Executive Officer for the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board since 2011. She has over 30 years of military and civilian nursing experience as a primary care pediatric nurse practitioner and nurse manager. Peg received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Maryland, her Master’s in Nursing from the University of Arizona and is a certified association executive. She is responsible for carrying out the mission and strategic plan of the PNCB and provides leadership for the activities and programs associated with over 45,000 certificants and four certification exams.
