Session Description: This session discusses the creation of Sort RN and Flow RN roles to improve throughput efficiency in the pediatric emergency department. This will also show the multidisciplinary team approach to developing the roles. The implementation of these changes improved patient safety, door to doc times, and left without being seen rates.
Primary Presenter Bio: I have been an emergency department nurse for the past 17 years both in the pediatric and adult settings. I have been currently working in the pediatric emergency department at Children’s Hospital Colorado for the past 12 years. I worked with the team that helped to create and implement the intake model in the pediatric emergency department.
