Session Description: Implementing a system evidence-based practice initiative can be logistically challenging given the current healthcare environment of multi-site large health systems. In this session, participants will gain an understanding how one large health system implemented an early warning score across all inpatient pediatric sites of care.
Primary Presenter Bio: Kimberly Duback is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist for the department of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Advocate Children's Hospital. She is a Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) and a Certified Pediatric Oncology/Hematology Nurse. Kimberly is a member of the Society of Pediatric Nurses and recently served as a reviewer for the 4th edition of the Pediatric Nursing Certification Review book as well as was a chapter lecturer for the Online Course. She has presented at local, national, and international conferences, as well as, has lectured on pediatric cancer in the community and at a university school of nursing.

Presenter 2 Bio: Jaime Biagioni is a Clinical Practice Specialist in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Advocate Children’s Hospital. She is a member of the Society of Pediatric Nurses as well as the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) with whom she maintains a CCRN-K certification. Jaime has been involved in research within the PICU and the Children’s Hospital as well as presented at local conferences. She is an active member of the site’s CHEWS initiative in addition to the Children’s Hospital Pediatric Code Blue Committee.
Presenter 3 Bio: Dr. Gloria Mudryj is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse – Nurse Practitioner for the Norwood and Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Clinics at Advocate Children’s Hospital. Gloria has been a nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Home Health, and General Inpatient Pediatrics prior to transitioning to cardiology. She co-leads the system CHEWS initiative. Gloria is a clinical pediatric visiting professor for Chamberlain University. Gloria is a member of the Society of Pediatric Nurses and has presented at several conferences and symposiums, as well as, lectured on pediatric cardiology at Saint Xavier University School of Nursing.

Presenter 4 Bio: Kelly Perez is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the department of Pediatrics at Advocate Children’s Hospital. She has experience in both pediatric critical care and general pediatric settings, and is a certified primary care pediatric nurse practitioner (CPNP-PC). Kelly co-leads several system initiatives including the Pediatric Sepsis Committee, CHEWS Committee, and Pediatric Practice Committee. She has experience as a pediatric clinical faculty instructor for the Department of Women, Children, & Family Health Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing. Kelly is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
