Session Description: This session describes a collaborative pilot study in which teachers and staff of high-risk public schools in Memphis, TN, participated in an educational session on triggers and management of asthma in schools, to mitigate complications when school nurses are not present.
Primary Presenter Bio: Dr. West has been a registered nurse for more than 40 years, and a pediatric nurse for more than 30 years. She received her BSN and MSN degrees from the University of Memphis, and her PhD in Nursing Education from Capella University. She has been a professor at the Loewenberg College of Nursing since 2006, and a member of the Pediatric Asthma Management Team since 2016.
