Target Audience: RNs: Pediatric Nurses
Description: Are we listening to nurses' voices about vaccine-refusal and patient dismissal? While pediatricians' perspectives are well-represented in the clinical literature, there are no published data about nurses' perspectives on this issue. This presentation will show and discuss data from a research study of nurses' perspectives on responding to parental vaccine-refusal.
Outcome: Participants will learn to articulate major themes from a quantitative, exploratory study of nurses' perspectives on vaccine refusal; identify differences between pediatric nurses' and pediatricians' perspectives on patient dismissal after parental vaccine refusal.
Continuing Education: Society of Pediatric Nurses is accredited with distinction as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
